Shimla, Feb 28
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu denies giving resignation from the post. In a media statement said that ih as not prposed to give a resignation. ,” Adding, I am a warrior and we fight like a war.” We will face all challenges. he stated that the Congress government will run for full five years.”
Earlier this morning news went viral that CM Sukhu has proposed to resign from his post to save the State Government after getting the budget passed today. The move was seen as a result of the political turmoil unfolding in Himachal since Tuesday February 27.
Denying, CM Sukhu clarified that all such claims made by media in this regard are baseless, and has not taken any such action. We will showcase our majority by getting the budget passed, he stated. “Infact the government will run government for full five years, as it a government of common man, employee and women,” stated Sukhu.
Even after the cross voting in the Rajya sabha polls our government has a majority in the house. “Also a few of the MLAs from opposition BJP our in touch too, claimed Sukhu. He said that he assures the public that the Congress led State government will keep serving the people of the State for complete five years.
Earlier, even party MLA Sunder lal has denied this claim on the floor of the house, stating that how is it possible as the party observers have still not reached Shimla. Also as per AICC sources no such proposal has been received so far.
Media reports earlier this morning stated that CM Sukhu proposed to the party observers Bhupinder Singh Hooda and DK Shivkumar to resign from the post if it can save the Government.
This started unfolding when on Tuesday, around six MLAs of the Congress party cross voted in favour of the BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan, after which the State has turned into a political battleground. Six Congress MLA including Rajinder Rana, Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Inderdut Lakhanpal, Chetnya Sharma and Devinder Bhuto were reported to have cross voted.
later in a statement one of the six MLAs Rajinder Rana reportedly communicated to the Congress high command about their dissident with the current CM Sukhu. Rana reportedly has informed Congress big wigs that CM Sukhu must be replaced or else many MLAs may leave the party.
The same was turned true as this morning even PWD Minister and son of Congress stalwart Virbhdra Singh offered to resign from his post. Though he did not resign from the party but cited insult of his father and non fulfillment of MLA priorities by State government as the reason for this action.
The congress has sent observers from Delhi, who may have been taking stock of the situation.
Even the opposition BJP has stated that the State Government has lost majority in the house and therefore must sept down.
