Pradhan accused of demanding bribe for NOC on Industrial Shed Construction

In a significant development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Baddi’s Special Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Branch (SV&ACB) has registered a case against Neelam, the Pradhan of Dhela Gram Panchayat, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act). The FIR, numbered 04/2023 and dated June 22, 2023, was lodged based on a complaint alleging that the suspect demanded a bribe of Rs. 3 lakh from the complainant.

According to the complaint, the bribe was supposedly sought by Neelam in exchange for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the construction of an industrial shed on a leased plot of land. The complainant, whose identity remains confidential, lodged the report, prompting an immediate investigation by the authorities.
The ACB has taken the allegations seriously and has initiated a thorough inquiry into the matter. As the investigation unfolds, the ACB will keep the public informed about any significant developments in the case.
