A week after the trekker went missing in an avalanche at the Friendship peak of Kullu, the rescue teams have succeeded in tracing the helmet of the victim in the snow. The search operation is mainly concentrated on the avalanche site as three youth got trapped in the snow after a avalanche triggered near the Friendship peak . The helmet of the trekker from Chopal in Shimla district, who went missing after being hit by a glacier at Friendship Peak on November 17, has been recovered on Thursday.
Deputy commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg said that after finding of the helmet, the rescue teams have now centered the search in a limited area. After the finding of this evidence it being expected that soon the trace of the missing tracker will be found.
DC Kullu Ashutosh Garg said that along with other teams, retired army personnel with avalanche search experience have also been deployed for the operation. The teams of Adventure Tour Operators Association and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute, Manali had started the search since November 20.
