
Seven killed in road mishap in Chamba
Chamba, June 18,
Seven people were killed in a road accident near Chhatrund on the Masrund-Hamal road in Chamba district late Wednesday night.
According to official information, the accident occurred when a vehicle met with an accident on the remote hill road. All seven occupants died in the mishap. The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known.
The district administration and local authorities rushed to the spot and carried out rescue and relief operations. The bodies were recovered and further legal formalities were being completed.
The accident occurred in the Chhatrund area of Chamba district during the night of June 17-18. Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the mishap.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep grief over the loss of lives. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the affected families. The Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
