Shimla Mayor and Deputy Mayor selection: Congress to hear Councillors’ opinions
Shimla, May 12
The Congress party has called for a meeting of all the newly elected councilors on May 14 at 5 pm at Oak Over, the official residence of the Chief Minister, to select the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation. The meeting aims to hear the views of all councilors and consider their different opinions to reach a consensus on the selection of the two positions.
To ensure the success of the meeting, All India Congress Committee Secretary, co-incharge of state affairs, Tajendra Pal Singh Bittu, and observer appointed by All India Congress Committee for Shimla Municipal Corporation elections will be present. Other high-ranking officials, including State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, and Shimla City MLA Harish Janartha, will also attend.

Congress General Secretary Amit Pal Singh stated that the purpose of the meeting is to facilitate the unanimous selection of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor after considering the opinions of all newly elected councilors of Congress
