Sirmaur Goats Poisoning Case: Woman booked for allegedly feeding Urea to Livestock in Renuka Ji village

Tension gripped Aliya village in the Shri Renuka Ji area of Sirmaur district after several goats reportedly died under suspicious circumstances on Friday morning. Police have registered a case against a woman for allegedly poisoning the animals by feeding them urea fertilizer.
According to police information, the complaint was lodged by Hira, son of late Khulu Ram, a resident of Aliya village under Dadahu tehsil. In his complaint, Hira alleged that his sister-in-law, Nisha Devi, intentionally fed urea fertilizer to his goats, following which the animals died after some time.

The complainant claimed that the goats suddenly fell ill after consuming the suspected substance and later died, raising suspicion of deliberate poisoning. The deaths of the livestock have created tension among residents of the village, as many depend on animal husbandry for their livelihood.
Police officials said statements of the complainant and other villagers are being recorded as part of the investigation. Authorities are also examining the circumstances under which the animals were allegedly fed the fertilizer.
Officials stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry. Meanwhile, villagers have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter to determine the exact cause of the animals’ deaths.
