Shimla/Kaza, Aug 25
In a recent update from Spiti, NH 505 has been partially disrupted as the Chichong Bridge about 35 kilometer on Kaza to Manali route has collapsed.
The local MLA, Anuradha Rana, shared this information through her social media, confirming that discussions have already taken place with the Officer Commanding (OC) of the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
As a result, two Officers in Charge (OIC) have been dispatched to the site, she claimed.
Fortunately, the individual present in the dumper at the time of the incident is safe. Even though a detailed investigation is expected but preliminary reports suggest that the collapse was caused by an overload on the bridge.
In the meantime, traffic has been diverted to the Kiyamo Bridge to ensure continued movement on the road.
The BRO is expected to begin work on constructing a culvert soon to minimize inconvenience for local residents.
Stay tuned for more updates.
