Shimla, March 7
Till date 410 students of the state have been safely evacuated, while 58 more are still stranded in Ukraine and its neighboring states. The government is making all possible efforts to get them back safely, stated Chief Minister Jairam Thakur in a statement during the ongoing budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. He said that the State Government, realizing the sensitivity of the issue is following up the matter with the foreign ministry, so that other who are left behind can also be brought back safely.
The CM while updating the house on the current situation of evacuation of Indian Students added that all Indians stranded in Khakhiv have been taken out. He said now a few are remaining in Sumi town of Ukraine, for whom constant efforts are being made, and talks are being held with both Ukraine and Russia, for their safe evacuation. ” We are hopeful that that even the remaining students shall come back home safely. Adding, that the State government is standing beside all effected in this tough time.”
