Sukhu blames BJP for repeated paper leaks in the country

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi-led Union Government and BJP-ruled states, alleging that repeated examination paper leaks had put the future of lakhs of students and job aspirants at risk.
Speaking to mediapersons in Shimla, the Chief Minister said paper leak incidents had become a recurring feature under BJP governments. Referring to the previous BJP government in Himachal Pradesh headed by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Sukhu said the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC), Hamirpur, was embroiled in a major recruitment examination paper leak scandal.
He said several recruitment examination papers, including the police recruitment examination, were leaked during the previous BJP regime, affecting thousands of unemployed youths. Sukhu said his government ordered an investigation after coming to power, following which the HPSSC at Hamirpur was dissolved and those allegedly involved in the scam were arrested.
Questioning the Centre, the Chief Minister asked why incidents involving examination papers, including NEET and other competitive examinations, were repeatedly surfacing under BJP governments. He alleged that such irregularities had damaged the confidence of students and created uncertainty among young people preparing for government jobs and professional entrance examinations.
Sukhu also criticised the alleged use of force against protesting students and youth activists. He claimed that young protesters were subjected to lathi-charge and detention instead of their concerns being addressed. According to him, such actions reflected the BJP’s failure to safeguard the interests of the country’s youth.
The Chief Minister’s remarks came amid protests over the alleged police action against demonstrators in the national capital. According to Congress leaders, more than 60 students and youths sustained injuries during the police action.
On Tuesday night, Chief Minister Sukhu, members of his Council of Ministers and senior Congress leaders staged a dharna outside Raj Bhavan in Shimla to protest the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders during their march towards the Prime Minister’s residence.
Meanwhile, tension briefly prevailed near the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Shimla when protesters from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and BJP supporters came face to face during separate demonstrations. Police personnel intervened promptly and dispersed both groups, preventing any major confrontation.
