The South West monsoon has withdrawn completely from the North Western Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, confirmed Indian Meteorological Department spokesperson in a press communique released here today.
Spokesperson said that monsoon has withdrawn from the most parts of North Arabian Sea, most parts of Gujarat Region, some parts of West Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand;Â remaining parts of Saurashtra & Kutch, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh and some more parts of West Uttar Pradesh today.
The withdrawal line of Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through Longitude 79 degree East and Latitude of 31.7 degree North to longitude of 71 E and Lat . 20.3 N in between Uttarkashi, Nazibabad, Agra, Gwalior, Ratlam, Bharuch.
It is worthwhile to mention that monsoon started on June 29, 2022 and wreaked havoc in this season. It took 432 human lives rendering estimated loss of about Rs 2,19,226.13 lakh to public and private property. According to state disaster Management authority 231 people died in road related accidents, 56 falling from hills and height, 39 from drowning accidents, 28 from landslides, 26 from snake bites, 14 from electrocution, ten from cloud burst, three each of lightening and flash flood and 22 from other weather vagaries.Â
