Shimla/Dharamshala, March 18,
Himachal Pradesh is set to get two new Sainik Schools under the Central government’s partnership model, as announced by Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth. Addressing Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami in Parliament, the minister stated that the initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to expand military education across the country.
The Central government had introduced this initiative in 2021 to establish new Sainik Schools in collaboration with NGOs, trusts, private institutions, and government schools. Under this model, 45 new Sainik Schools are being set up nationwide, out of which two will be established in Himachal Pradesh.
These schools aim to provide quality education with a focus on discipline, leadership, and physical fitness, preparing students for careers in the armed forces and other fields. The partnership model allows institutions from different sectors to contribute towards military-style education, ensuring wider reach and accessibility.
