The race for Urban Local Body Elections 2026 has gathered pace in Solan district with around 60 nominations filed across municipal bodies on the first day of the nomination process.
The filings include 21 nominations for Municipal Corporation Solan, 18 for Municipal Council Parwanoo, 12 for Nagar Panchayat Arki and 9 nominations for Nagar Panchayat Kandaghat.
According to Election Officer and SDM Kandaghat Gopal Sharma, Surendra, son of late Harbans Lal, resident of Ward No. 1, 430 Silhari Kandaghat, filed nomination from Ward No. 1 Silhari. From Ward No. 2 Himuda, Rohit, son of late Mohan Kumar, Paras Sharma, son of Mangat Rai Sharma, and Kanta Kapoor, wife of Vijay Kumar, submitted their papers. In Ward No. 5 Rajrajeshwari, Rajita, wife of Manish Sood, Neeta, wife of Pratim Chand Thakur, and Bharti, wife of Rajesh, filed nominations. Neeraj Kumar filed from Ward No. 6 Lower Bazaar, while Monica Pandit filed from Ward No. 7 Brijeshwar Mahadev.
Assistant Election Officer, Municipal Council Parwanoo, said Meenakshi Sharma and Nandani Sood filed nominations from Ward No. 1. From Ward No. 2, Lakhwinder Singh, Rajni and Akhil filed papers. Mohan Lal filed from Ward No. 3, while Ram Dhyan Singh and Sunny Singh contested from Ward No. 4. Sushma Gupta filed from Ward No. 5. From Ward No. 6, Punit Kapoor, Thakur Das Sharma and Anil Kumar Sharma submitted nominations. Prem Lata and Seema Parashar filed from Ward No. 7, while Monisha Sharma, Anuradha and Veena filed from Ward No. 8. Nisha filed from Ward No. 9.
SDM Arki Nishant Tomar said Ranjana Kalia filed from Ward No. 1, Devendra Kumar from Ward No. 2, Ajay and Pradeep Sharma from Ward No. 3, Kiran and Aruna from Ward No. 4, Bhavna Devi and Tara from Ward No. 5, Veena Verma and Veena Devi from Ward No. 6, and Rajendra Kumar and Devendra Singh from Ward No. 7.

SDM Solan Dr. Poonam Bansal said Neelam and Archana Thakur filed from Ward No. 1 Dehunghat Saprun. Shanta and Sushma Sharma filed from Ward No. 2, while Deepin filed from Ward No. 3. From Ward No. 4, Rakesh Kumar, Sangeeta and Rohit Bhardwaj submitted nominations. Priyanka filed from Ward No. 5. Manoj Kumar, Pooja and Rabindra Kanwar Pal filed from Ward No. 7. Prateek Gupta and Ankush filed from Ward No. 10. Hema Sharma and Sarita filed from Ward No. 11. Meera Anand and Narendra Kumar filed from Ward No. 13. Sulakshana filed from Ward No. 14, Abhishek from Ward No. 15 and Aruna from Ward No. 17.
