Shimla, Sept 23,
Public Works Department (PWD) and Urban development Minister Vikramaditya Singh issued a strong rebuttal to recent comments by Kangana Ranaut, the actress and Mandi Member of Parliament (MP). In a sharp response, Singh challenged Ranaut to provide proof for her allegations or issue an apology to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.
“I challenge Kangana Ranaut to provide evidence of any fraudulent activity, even of one rupee, or apologize to Sonia ji. If she fails to do so, I will be compelled to file a defamation case,” declared Singh. He further added, “While we respect her as an MP, it is unfortunate that she has made such unfounded statements about a national leader like Sonia Gandhi. I believe that not even an illiterate person would say such things. She has one week to either provide proof or offer a public apology. If not, legal action will be taken. The BJP should also address this issue,” Singh urged.
The controversy erupted after Ranaut accused the state government of taking loans and diverting the funds to Sonia Gandhi, triggering widespread outrage.
Singh also criticized Ranaut’s “intellectual bankruptcy,” pointing to her recent controversies, including remarks on the farmers’ protests. Ranaut had earlier faced backlash after claiming that incidents of rape were happening under the guise of the farmers’ agitation.
