A student of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur has tragically ended life by hanging in hostel room. The student, was a final-year B.Tech dual-degree student and hailed from Bareilly. The shocking incident has left the institute’s administration stunned, while police have launched an investigation.

According to reports, the student was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her hostel room on Monday morning, sending shockwaves across the campus. The institute management immediately informed the police, who reached the site and began their inquiry. So far, the reason behind this extreme step remains unclear. The institute claimed that Ayansh was a bright student and had never reported any issues.
As per preliminary information, the deceased student was alone in the room on Sunday night. When family tried to reach him over the phone, their calls went unanswered. Growing concerned, they reached out to one of friends, who went to check. Finding the room locked from inside, the friend informed the hostel warden. When the room was finally opened, Ayansh was discovered hanging from the fan.
The reasons behind the drastic action remain a mystery, and the exact cause of death will be established only after a thorough police investigation. This tragic incident has once again brought NIT Hamirpur into the spotlight after nearly two years.
The institute’s registrar, Archana Santosh Nanoti, expressed her sorrow over the incident, stating that he was a good student and had shown no signs of distress. She mentioned that the institute organizes various activities like yoga and meditation to support students’ mental well-being. Despite these efforts, this heartbreaking incident has deeply saddened the entire campus community.
Although no official police statement has been issued till writing of this report but sources reveal investigation is ongoing, and family has been informed. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their probe.
