Shimla, August 19
Five humans lives were lost, nine injured, in monsoon weather related incidents in the last 24 hours. Also 4 houses were completely, 35 partially damaged, 1 bridge was also damaged in these weather related vagaries.
In Hamirpur district, a house collapsed at around 9.15AM this morning, claiming one life, in Village Bhalwani of Bhoranj tehsil of the district.
In a road accident occured in Kullu district near 17Mile, Manali two lost life. In the crash, one Truck (HP 64 B 6667) and Thar Car (UP 94 A 6068) collided with each other, wherein two people died on spot in this incident.
In another road accident, one lost life and five were injured. The ill fated Duster SUV lost control near Khuri Balh, of Mandi district and fell into a gorge at around 11:45AM. Injured were taken to SLBMC Nerchowk Mandi for the further treatment
In the same district in another incidence a car (HP 32 B0746) met an accident claiming life. This occured in Chimti Moud of tehsil Thunag under PS Jhanjheli at around 9:45 AM.
Another road accident in Sirmour district at 9:40 this morning, four were injured as a swift car (HP 85 -1810) went out of control and fell off road. Among the four in the car, two suffered major injuries and are admitted at Shillai hospital.
In Thunag of Mandi district one person was injured in a fire incidence. However, the shop here was completely gutted.
Also in a flash flood in Banikhet of Chamba diatrict, early this morning, 35 houses suffered partial damage. Water entered the houses due to excessive rain and damaged household things, one pick-up and one maruti Suzuki desire vehicle.
Also increasing Water level on one side of Jasrath Bridge in Udaipur, District Lahaul & Spiti, one footbridge suffered damage. Machinery have been deployed for restoration at incident site as the incidence took place on August 18.
Meanwhile the weather department has predicted more wet weather in next 48hours.
