CM review meeting: Rs 100 Crore for roads, concern on destitute animals

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has allocated Rs 100 crore for the Chief Minister Road Scheme and expresses concern about destitute animals during a recent review meeting with Administrative Secretaries.
This was informed by official spokesperson from the State government. Adding that, emphasizing technology integration for transparency and efficiency, the Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to expedite long-pending cases, with a Revenue Lok Adalat scheduled for December 1-2, 2023.
Priority was given to green industry projects, with detailed project reports for heliports in Rakkad, Palampur, and Sultanpur expected by December 15, 2023, aiming to boost tourism infrastructure, he added.
Talking about the review meeting chaired by the CM, the spokesperson informed that in the realm of green initiatives, the e-taxi scheme sees progress, and Rs 680 crore is allocated for the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme, focusing on self-reliance and employment opportunities for local youth.
He said that recruitment processes in various departments, including Jal Shakti, Police, and Forest, were reviewed. “ Recruitment process of 4500 para personnel in Jal Shakti Department, 1200 constables in Police Department and about 2100 Van Mitras in Forest Department, was reviewed.”
In healthcare sector Sukhu reviewed plans about the push for robotic surgery and advanced medical equipment in state medical colleges. The CM said that in the coming times, a National Cancer Institute will be established in the state.
The CM directed officials to make efforts to address destitute animals, and the proposed milk plant in Dhagwar, Kangra, also underwent a review for an expedited detailed project report, he added.
Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Revenue Omkar Chand Sharma, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Bharat Kheda attended the comprehensive meeting, concluded the official spokesperson.
