Yashwant Chhajta appointed Vice Chairman of HIMUDA, resumes position after Congress’ return to power
Shimla, Nov 28
Yashwant Chajta of the Congress party has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Himachal Urban Development authority (HIMUDA). In a notification issued here by orders of Divesh Kumar, Principal Secretary housing, stated that,” In exercise of powers conferred under clause (a) of Sub-section (1) of section 4 of chapter II of the Himachal Pradesh housing and urban development authority act 2004 is pleased to nominate Er. Yashwant Chhajta, S/o Lt. Shri Salig Ram Chhajta, Chhajta, Heights Sanjauli, Shimla-171006 as Vice chiman of the HIMUDA with immediate effect.”
Noteworthy that Chajta has remained at the similar position in the previous Congress led State government upto 2012-2017. Chajta, was amongst Naresh Chauhan and the sitting MLA, for the top 3 likely contestants for Shimla Urban seat during 2022 Vidhan sabha polls. He has also remained Shimla party president. Currently is the party Secretary for administration and accounts.
Noteworthy that the political appointment has come after a long gap of formation of the State government. Also reportedly, speculation are high that the State government may expand the cabinet by completion of its one year tenure.
