Shimla, Dec 12
Reports hinting that the HP cabinet is gearing up for expansion. Two more council of ministers would be inducted in the nine member of cabinet on the occasion of one year celebration of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government.
According to sources Governer is out of state and if he returms today the expansion likely to be held after 1630 hrs on Tuesday.
Among those who are shortlisted are members of legislative assembly from Ghumarwin of Bilaspur district Rajesh Dharmani who is a four time members of assembly. Another member would be Yadvinder Goma from Jaisinghpur of Kangra.
Dharmani would arrive Shimla and Goma was also called by the Chief minister to attend Cabinet expansion.
The state General Administration is already preparing for the oath which might be held around 1630hrs. Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Partap Shukla reported to be at New Delhi likely to return by the afternoon.
Currently including Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri there are nine council of ministers in the state cabinet and expansion was on the board since last one year. State could induct three more ministers in the 68 members legislature as number of ministers couldn’t exceed 12.
Currently there was imbalance in the COMs as out of ten MLAs from biggest Kangra district there is only one cabinet minister.
Among the current member in the COMs are three ministers from Shimla including Rohit Thakur from Jubbal and Kotkhai, Vikramaditya Singh from Rural Shimla and Anirudh Singh from Kasumpti. Dr Dhani Ram Shandil from Solan, Harshvardhan Chauhan from Sirmour, Jagat Singh Negi from Kinnaur, Chander Kumar from Kangra. Kuldeep singh Pathania is speaker from Chamba district.
Three seats in council of ministers are vacant for last one year. Now perhaps, Sukhu has given green signal for cabinet expansion during celebration of completion of one year celebration.
