Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLA has been elevated as Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board. He would be provided cabinet rank . Pathania is second time member of assembly from Fatehpur of Kangra district.
A alumni of a Shimla Convent, Pathania has worked in financial sector for number of years before jumping into electoral politics behind his father Late SS Pathania.
In a notification issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh “Planning department, it was stated, ” The Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to appoint Shri Bhawani Singh Pathania, Hon’ble MLA as Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Himachal Pradesh in the rank of Cabinet Minister with immediate effect. The terms and conditions of the appointment will be issued separately, stated the Government order.
The move is also being seen as act to balance the political equation in Kangra, amidst the ongoing trouble caused to the Sukhu Government due cross voting by six dissident MLAs out of which one belongs to Kangra.
Pathania’s clean image and the attitude to not budge down to the current political situation is also being looked upon a reason for this elevation.
