A light magnitude earthquake jolt snowbound Lahaul Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh on Monday night, informed Indian Meteorological department today.
An Earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was experienced at 2237 hrs last night. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the high reaches of snowbound tribal district at Latitude of 32.73 & Longitude of :76.61 and depth five km and about 300 km from state capital Shimla.
No loss of any life and property was reported so far.
Currently the entire Lahaul Spiti district is wrapped by the thick layer of snow and most places are under high alert for the high probability of avalanche.
