Shimla, June 15,
In a recent press conference held in Nahan, DIG State CID Crime Dr. D.K. Chaudhary and SP Sirmaur Raman Kumar Meena provided updates on the case of Head Constable Jasvir Saini. Saini, who had gone missing after posting a video on social media claiming he would resign and commit suicide, was found in a village between Narayangarh and Mullana in Ambala district of Haryana. He has since been admitted to Medical College Nahan and is reported to be in good health.

Dr. Chaudhary emphasized that the primary goal of the police was to locate the missing officer. Now that Saini has been found, the investigation can move forward more clearly. It has been revealed that Saini deliberately went into hiding after releasing the video.
SP Raman Kumar Meena provided further context, explaining that a month prior, a resident of Kala Amb had lodged a complaint against Saini, accusing him of bribery. An audio clip related to this accusation had gone viral. As the investigation into the bribery complaint began, Saini released his video and disappeared.
SP Meena also addressed another case involving the beating of a 20-year-old youth, in which Saini was the investigating officer. Meena pointed out that Saini had not conducted the investigation properly—failing to get an X-ray done or seize video footage of the incident. Following a complaint about these lapses, orders were issued for a thorough investigation, which Saini apparently tried to avoid by going into hiding.
Meena reassured the public that there was no undue pressure on Saini to apply section 307 in the case. He also warned against the misuse of social media to tarnish the image of the Sirmaur Police, stating that appropriate action would be taken against those responsible. The case concerning the youth’s beating has been reassigned to another officer and transferred to the CID for further investigation.
Present at the press conference were ASP Yogesh Rolta, DSP Probation Aditi Singh, and DSP Headquarters Ramakant Thakur. Noteworthy that this case has garnered widespread attention across the state and even opposition BJP had raised questions in this matter while accusing State government of mis-managing law and order situation in the state.
Pertinent to mention that Saini went missing shortly after posting a video on social media on June 10, alleging pressure from his superiors regarding a case. In the video, Saini expressed his distress over the alleged pressure from a senior officer. Whereafter his disappearance had sparked protests and demands for a thorough investigation. On Thursday, Saini’s family and supporters had staged a demonstration outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Nahan, urging for a high-level inquiry, whereafter a team lead by DIG was formed to probe in the matter
