Shimla, Dec 18,
SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station has successfully met its design energy target of 1,878.08 million units for the financial year 2024-25, three months ahead of schedule. This achievement marks the second-fastest record for design energy generation at Rampur HPS, following the previous record set on December 15, 2019, informed a company spokesperson.
This accomplishment highlights the power station’s high technical standards, effective maintenance practices, and operational efficiency, they added. The Rampur HPS is operated alongside the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, forming a unique tandem operating system, a model rarely seen in India’s hydropower sector.
Recently, Rampur HPS also celebrated 10 successful years of commercial operations, marking a decade of significant contributions to clean energy and regional development, they informed. Adding, that over the years, the power station has exceeded its design energy target in 8 out of 10 years and generated over 20,000 million units. “Its highest-ever annual generation was 2,098.03 million units in FY 2019-20, with record quarterly and daily generation figures in the current fiscal year,” they claimed.
With a remarkable Plant Availability Factor of 106.41%, Rampur HPS has generated ₹8,000 crores in revenue over the past decade. SJVN credits this achievement to the dedication of its team, particularly those at Rampur HPS, and expresses gratitude to the Ministry of Power, Government of India, Government of Himachal Pradesh, local administration, and all stakeholders for their continued support. ” The company remains committed to delivering operational excellence and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future,” stated the company management.
