In a significant step towards interdisciplinary education, HPNLU has launched a two-year MBA programme for the academic session 2025–27, adding a dynamic new dimension to its academic offerings, informed a university spokesperson. He said that this makes HPNLU one of the few national law universities in India to expand beyond traditional legal studies into the realm of business education. Adding, that, the newly introduced MBA programme is uniquely designed to integrate legal, ethical, and public policy perspectives into management training, equipping students for leadership roles in both corporate and governance ecosystems.
Established in 2016 under the Himachal Pradesh National Law University Act (Act 16 of 2016), HPNLU has consistently grown in stature, attracting meritorious students and renowned scholars with its innovative curriculum and a strong focus on societal impact. The university’s popular five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes, alongside its LL.M. specializations in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law & Forensic Studies, Business Law, and Intellectual Property Rights, have already positioned it among India’s promising legal institutions.
With the MBA launch, the university is poised to nurture a new generation of professionals who can operate at the intersection of law, business, and governance.
Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, HPNLU continues to pioneer bold academic reforms, with a growing emphasis on research, critical inquiry, and socially responsible leadership. “The new MBA programme aligns with our vision of developing professionals who are not just skilled in their domains, but also deeply conscious of legal and ethical frameworks that guide public and private decision-making,” Prof. Saxena remarked.
The ongoing admission process is being conducted smoothly and transparently, reflecting HPNLU’s continued commitment to inclusivity and academic merit.
Set amidst the tranquil hills of Shimla, the university offers a holistic educational experience that goes beyond textbooks—fostering leadership, public engagement, and innovation.
