With the arrival of the monsoon, several regions of the state are expected to witness widespread rainfall activity, providing relief from summer temperatures but also increasing the risk of landslides, flash floods and waterlogging in vulnerable areas. Authorities have advised residents and tourists to remain updated on weather advisories and exercise caution, particularly in hilly and landslide-prone zones.
The onset of the monsoon is crucial for Himachal Pradesh’s agriculture and horticulture sectors, especially for apple-growing regions and kharif crop cultivation, though excessive rainfall can pose challenges to infrastructure and transportation networks.
