Saraswati Paradise Director’s murder: Brother named mastermind, Four arrested in alleged Siblicide case
Shimla, June 30,
What police describe as a case of siblicide arising out of a bitter property dispute has emerged as the alleged motive behind the murder of Saraswati Paradise International School Director Manisha Mittal. Shimla Police on Monday claimed to have solved the sensational killing by arresting all four accused, including the victim’s brother, who has been identified as the alleged mastermind of the conspiracy.
Manisha Mittal was shot dead by two sharp shooters on June 13 near the premises of Saraswati Paradise School at Sanjauli. A case was registered at Sanjauli Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
According to the police investigation, two shooters, Ashish Ahlawat (22) of Jhajjar and Deepak (25) of Rohtak, travelled from Haryana to Shimla in a white Swift car to execute the murder. Acting on technical surveillance, CCTV footage, forensic evidence and intelligence inputs, Shimla Police tracked down the vehicle and arrested both accused from Rohtak within 39 hours of the crime. Two pistols allegedly used in the murder were also recovered.
The investigation subsequently uncovered an alleged conspiracy linked to a long-standing property dispute between the deceased and her brother, Himank Mittal. Police said Govind, a resident of Rohtak, allegedly rented the Swift car used in the crime, arranged logistics for the shooters and transferred money to one of the assailants. Investigators also found that Govind, Deepak and Ashish had visited Shimla together a few days before the murder.

Police alleged that Govind fled after the crime, switched off his mobile phone and attempted to evade arrest. He was arrested from Rohtak on June 28 and remanded to four days of police custody. During preliminary interrogation, police claimed that Govind admitted to orchestrating the murder.
Further investigation revealed that Himank Mittal had allegedly transferred ₹8.5 lakh to Govind’s bank account a few days before the incident. Based on financial transactions, technical evidence and other evidence collected during the investigation, police alleged that Himank was the mastermind of the murder plot and, along with Govind, recruited the two shooters to kill his sister. Himank Mittal, 33, was arrested from Rohtak on June 29.
Shimla Police said the case was solved through forensic analysis, CCTV examination, technical surveillance and coordinated operations in Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. All four accused have been arrested, while further investigation is continuing.Suggested sharper headline: Police Crack ‘Siblicide’ Case: Brother Allegedly Hired Sharp Shooters to Kill Saraswati Paradise School Director
