Good wishes received on the first day at office have come up heavy on Sanjay Kundu HP-DGP and many others at the state police headquarters.
A police spokesperson informed that on June 1, when Kundu assumed first day at office, a person came to congratulate him. As per HP police, the person was from Delhi and returned back after meeting the DGP and others. The same person was tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi on June 8 and he passed away today in Delhi.
Therefore part of precautionary measures and according to protocol all persons in contact with the deceased person have been sent for home quarantine, stated the police spokesman.
The areas where this person had visited are being sealed and officers/personal who came in contact with the positive person, are being tested for COVID-19, he added. ‘Till their results test negative, the officials and police will remain in home quarantine, concluded the spokesman.
