Shimla, Sept 20,
A fire broke out late Wednesday night in a four-story house located in Jhanjidi village, on the outskirts of Shimla. The blaze caused severe damage to the top floor of the residence owned by Babu Ram.
The attic of the building was particularly affected, with goods worth lakhs of rupees being destroyed. Firefighters from multiple stations responded promptly to the emergency call, arriving at the scene around 9:30 PM.
With the assistance of local residents, the fire department teams successfully contained the fire by 10 PM, preventing it from spreading to the lower floors. The quick response and cooperation from the community were instrumental in minimizing the damage.
While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities are assessing the extent of the loss. Preliminary estimates suggest that goods worth several lakhs have been destroyed, but a more accurate assessment is still underway.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident. The fire department expressed relief at their ability to control the blaze before it caused further damage to the building or nearby properties.
