Cucurbitaceous Crops (Cucumber, Bottle Gourd, Bitter Gourd, Pumpkin): Expect loss of flowers, fruit dropping, and rotting due to waterlogged conditions. These advisories are intended to guide farmers in mitigating the potential damage caused by the severe weather conditions. Similar precautions should be taken for bee colonies, ensuring protection from rainwater and maintaining cleanliness.
The natural farming community is encouraged to use mulch to prevent soil and root damage during moderate to heavy rainfall. Farmers practicing natural farming may follow the suggested management practices, while other farmers should refer to the recommended package of practices.
It is crucial for farmers to stay informed, monitor weather updates, and prioritize safety measures to protect their agricultural endeavours, stated the special advisory.
