Shimla, Apr 30
In a much awaited move, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has unveiled its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the remaining two constituencies Kangra and Hamirpur of Himachal Pradesh, marking an end to the anticipation surrounding the polls in the state.
Former Union Minister Anand Sharma has been selected to contest from the Kangra Lok Sabha constituency, a decision that underscores the party’s strategic choice of an experienced leader to represent the region. Sharma’s nomination comes amidst a shifting political landscape, with the Congress party aiming to assert its presence in key constituencies.
In addition to Sharma, Satpal Raizada has been nominated to contest from the Hamirpur constituency, highlighting the party’s focus on fielding candidates with a deep understanding of local issues and concerns.
The decision to nominate Anand Sharma in Kangra signifies a departure from conventional party strategies, as both the Congress and BJP have traditionally relied on Brahmin candidates for this constituency. With this move, the Congress party aims to inject fresh momentum into its electoral campaign, challenging the status quo and presenting voters with a compelling choice.
With more nominations expected to follow, the Congress party is poised to intensify its campaign efforts, rallying support and mobilizing resources to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
