The Supreme Court of India has given stage-two clearances to 600 development projects during the covid lock down, however other number of developmental projects of stage-1 are pending before the SC for the same.
This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur replying to a query of Jagat Singh Negi of Congress in the question hour. Thakur said that SC of India banned all types of green felling and only those developmental projects could be executed by the state government which were allowed by the apex court after giving final forest clearance.
CM said that during the last two years his government is trying to get permission fort many projects pending before the union ministry of forest, environment and climatic change.
” I have met the Prime minister, Union home minister and Solicitor General of India for early clearance of pending projects. SC have recently allowed 600 developmental projects which were pending for stage two clearance.” Thakur informed.
Other projects which are pending for stage one clearance before the Union minister would also be placed before the SC to also be allowed soon. Six link roads projects belonging to Kinnuar district are also pending for forest clearance and the government would prepare DPR only after it was permitted by the court.
