Shimla, May 24
State premier health institution Indra Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla recorded as many as 568 death of Covid patients as data of death rate of Critical and very Critical Covid cases was estimated around two percent compared to normal death rate of two to three percent . In a media press release issued by the IGMC Sr Medical Superintendent about Covid treatment here today said that death rate of serious and very serious Covid patient was measured around two per cent. He said that as per the World Journal of Death and Dying death rate reported of critical Covid patients is around two to three percent.
He said that this death rate of Covid patients went up to five per cent in some Nations. He informed that so far serious and very serous 2834 Covid cases were treated in the IGMC and 2025 of them returned home after recovery. Currently 241 Covid patients are under treatment in the Hospital.
The Hospital also provided dialysis services to 235 Covid patients and many of them were operated for various kind of surgeries. IGMC is only hospital in the state which is continue to treat Covid and non Covid patients.
The hospital Maximum oxygen consumption remained above sixty lakh litre till this date however there is no dearth of Oxygen so far, he claimed.
He said that as many as 4244788 patients turned up in the IGMC non-Covid OPD in 2020 and 2005365 patient this year.
