All India Bank strike crippled Public sector banking services all over state as employees are protesting privatisation of Nationalised Banks on Dec 16 & 17.
Branches of State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, Unitted Commercial Bank and other public sector banks remained off all over the state on the call of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
The banks unions are opposing Bank Regularisation Bills to allow the entry of big captalist into the Nationalised Banks. The state convenor of UFBU Nariender Sharma said that bank strike was success in the state as bank officials and Employees joined Protests in their respective locations all over the state.
He said that UFBU has given the call for two day Bank Strike on Dec 16 & 17 against the Legislation being brought to dismantle Public sector banks and allow the big corporate to take over the nationalised banks.
Today, nig locks were seen hanging on the SBI, Kalibari and Mall road branches and other nationalised banks including SBI, PNB, BOI & UCO Bank’s in Shimla and other districts. The bank unions also held a meeting at DC office Shimla in protest of the BRB brought by Modi Government.
