In a big catch, opium worth three to four crores has been seized in Theog tehsil of the district. Around 4.155 Kg opium has been recovered by the Special Investigation Unit of Shimla police from the possession of two Nepali siblings who have been arrested, confirmed police officials. Superintendent of Police Shimla Mohit Chawla said that SIU Shimla on Wednesday recovered the consignment of Opium from the possession of two persons. The accused have been identified as Mohinder Bhadur Singh and Gorakh Bhadur Singh son of Laal, both the residents of Village Nalgaad, district Jajarkot, Anchal Bihar of Nepal and Gorhakh.
The SIU unit nabbed the duo with the consignment at a Dhaba and car washing station near Gajedi at Theog in the district. They are being interrogated to further probe the crime after booking them under different sections of NDPS Act, added the SP.
