BJP MLA from Balh Assembly Constituency, Inder Singh Gandhi, raises serious concerns over alleged corruption in the Jal Shakti Division, Baggi, demanding a CBI investigation.
He accused the government of protecting corrupt officials, criticizing the inaction on his complaints. He stated that even preliminary investigations haven’t been conducted.
Gandhi alleged that the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the division engaged in multiple corrupt practices. These include awarding around 50 tenders to two favored contractors within 11 months.
According to Gandhi, the XEN spent Rs. 35 lakh on office decoration while leaving payments pending for other contractors for two years.
He further accused the XEN of Purchasing a generator for Rs. 32 lakh without a contract rate (market price: Rs. 18 lakh), Spending an additional Rs. 3.5 lakh for fittings, a cost typically included in such contracts, replacing good-quality pipes by falsely declaring them defective and Buying tool kits at four times the market price.
Gandhi also highlighted widespread corruption in the Balh development block, involving several Panchayat officials.
He accused that the Deputy Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Dusra Khabu, the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Badsu and others of misusing government property.
He claimed that a defeated political leader is using his influence to transfer Panchayat employees and harass women Pradhans
Gandhi claimed to have met Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, who assured him of an investigation and appropriate action. However, Gandhi argues that mere transfers are insufficient and reiterates his demand for a thorough CBI probe to ensure accountability and justice.
