Bus Services on Six main routes partially resume following heavy rainfall and landslides
Shimla, Aug 24
The Shimla Transport unit of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced the partial resumption of bus services on six key routes after heavy rainfall and landslides disrupted normal operations. Despite the challenges posed by the inclement weather, the bus services have been partly restored, bringing relief to the residents and commuters.
The District Administration spokesperson confirmed today that both HRTC and private transport bus services are now operational on the following routes: Shimla-Rampur, Shimla-Kotkhai-Rohru, Shimla-Sanj-Chopal-Nerwa, Shimla-Sunni, Tatapani-Karsog, Shimla-Chandigarh, and Shimla-Bilaspur-Mandi. This resumption in services on these crucial routes is a positive step towards restoring connectivity and convenience for the people.
Furthermore, in addition to the main routes, bus services have also been reinstated to their normal schedules within Shimla town and a few local routes.
The recent bout of heavy rainfall and subsequent landslides had severely affected the region’s transportation infrastructure, causing disruptions to daily life.
