Yellow Alert: Shimla Admin extends School vacation

The Shimla district administration extended the vacation in all educational institutions till August 25 following yellow alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall issued by IMD for the next 24hrs in the district.
Deputy commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi said that due to danger of many more landslides on the roads it is not safe to open educational institutions. DC issued a notification here today that roads are blocked despite efforts by the concerned departments to clear landslides in the district.
He said that in prevailing circumstance, the movement of staff, students, trainees etc. may not be safe & therefore needs to be restricted for their safety.
He said that all the Government, Private educational institutions / University / College, Schools, Vocational training center Anganwari shall remain closed on August 25 2023.
The Heads of these institutions should ensure strict compliance of the above said orders being the same a matter of public safety.
It is worthwhile to mention that due to continued wreaking of havoc in the state district administration had kept all educational institutions closed since August 23.
