The exercise by the CBI was a Preventive Vigilance Check aimed at examining any procedural irregularities, stated office of Chief Post Master General Himachal Pradesh, while denying any raid by the CBI.
They stated that reports are appearing on various media channels regarding a CBI squad check in the office of Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Shimla. It is clarified that this exercise was a Preventive Vigilance Check aimed at examining any procedural irregularities.
Adding, that ,”All recruitments are done in the Department of Posts in a fair and transparent manner, based on the sole criterion of merit. No irregularities have been found in recruitment.
However the CPMG also stated that, “Any other procedural irregularities, if noticed by the CBI, will be suitably rectified”. Such checks are useful to prevent lapses in the future.
Noteworthy that on Thursday evening reports of a CBI raid had surfaced in various media. Reportedly they raided the heritage GPO of Shimla at around 5PM and took certain documents with them.
