The All India Congress Committee on Saturday issued a fresh organisational order for Himachal Pradesh, appointing district-wise PCC observers to oversee the selection of District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents under the ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. The press note, signed by AICC in-charge for Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Rajani Patil, lists newly appointed observers for all 12 districts with immediate effect.
According to the release, Chamba will be overseen by Gokul Butail, Devinder Jaggi and Saurav Chauhan, while Kangra has been assigned Asha Kumar, Vikender Dharmani and Devender Negi. Lahaul–Spiti observers include Devinder Shyam, Vikas Kapoor and Rohit Vats Dhami, whereas Kullu will be handled by Kaul Singh Thakur, Ramesh Chauhan and Chandershekhar Sharma.
For Mandi, the appointed observers are Ram Lal Thakur, Maheshwar Chauhan and Rajiv Kimta. Hamirpur district will be supervised by Naresh Chauhan, Satpal Rajjada and Jiwan Thakur, and Una by Prakesh Chaudhary, Ajay Mahajan and Vivek Kumar .
The second page of the press note lists Sunil Sharma, Champa Thakur and Amit Bharmouri as observers for Bilaspur; Kirmesh Jung, Adarsh Sood and Satya Jeet Negi for Solan; and Ritesh Kaprete, Sohan Lal and Surender Sethi for Sirmaur. For Shimla district, the observers appointed are Ganga Ram Masafir, Shashi Thakur and Prem Kaushal. In Kinnaur, the oversight team comprises Kehar Singh Khachi, Chander Prabha Negi and Mahender Stan .
The appointments form part of the party’s broader organisational revamp exercise in the state ahead of upcoming political cycles. Party insiders said the observers are expected to begin ground-level consultations soon to finalise DCC presidents.
Sources also hint that the announcement of a new Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief may follow shortly, signalling further changes in the state organisation.
