Due to sudden spike in the Covid cases across the state, respective district administration have started taking disciplinary action against responsible official(s). The step has been initiated after alleged incidences of sudden outbreak of Corona- Virus cases in the Schools, Jails and social gatherings.
A notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Mandi on Monday ordered a magisterial probe into an alleged incident of sudden spike in the Covid cases in two schools including Govt Senior Secondary School Sarkaghat and Bhaderwar in Mandi district on Oct 29.
Inquiry Officer cum Sub Divisional Magistrate Sarkagaht of Mandi district gave a show cause notice to Principals of both school in which SDM stated that majority of positive cases of Covid-19 pertaining to teachers or school staff of this subdivisions which may be due to laxity on part of school administration while observing the SOPs issued by the Government.
In the notice the SDM has demanded explanation from both principals by today that under what circumstances majority of schools staff had turned Covid positive.
It is worthwhile to mention that as a major setback to the State Government’s decision of opening Schools and Colleges after a gap of Seven month, 22 teachers of Sarkaghat Government School in Mandi district have tested positive. State Government officials also confirmed that as many as 92 students and staff of Tibetan Children Village (TCV) School in Suja, Jogindernagar, District Mandi have been found Covid-19 positive, which include 47 girls, 20 boys and 25 staff members also tested positive on Nov 7.
Beside, Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Joginder Nagar have also tested positive.
Currently , Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Solan and Hamirpur district are most affected as Covid spike is highest in last nine months which has taken lives of about 380 people and tally mounted up to 26200 so far.
