Shimla, Nov 28
A twin digital drive by the State Police and the HP State Legal Services Authority has been successful in recovering challans worth Rs 1.57 crore.
A spokesperson of the State police informed that sending SMS to pay challans through E-Challan Portal and SAMA, helped in recovering the huge sum from a total of 9797 challans.
The drive was carried out from November 15 to November 26 wherein a National Lok Adalat was held on 27 November across the state in digital mode where a pending fine of Rs 69 lakh was recovered from 7143 cases.
He said that maximum amount of Rs 40.47 lakh from capital Shimla, followed by Hamirpur (24.55 lakh), Kangra (21.01 Lakh), Una (16.40 lakh), Baddi Police district (15.16 lakh) and Sirmaur (11.09 lakh). While the lowest amount has been recovered from Chamba 3.73 lakh, followed Kinnaur (3.82 lakh), Bilaspur (4.89 Lakh), Kullu (8.23 lakh), Solan (8.65 Lakh) and Mandi (9.87 lakh), added the spokesperson.
