Elephants have assaulted a man who died in Sainwala reserved forest under Majra police station area of ​​Paonta Sahib sub-division of Sirmaur.

The elephant had badly injured the man, after which the man died on the way to the hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Tapendra (48), son of Heera Singh, village Kyari Post Office Kyari Gunda Tehsil Kamrau District Sirmaur. Police said that as soon as the information was received, the police left for the spot. Police also found elephant footprints on the spot.

Confirming the incident, police station in-charge Pratap Parmar said that in the preliminary investigation the cause of death seems to be elephant attack. The post-mortem of the deceased’s body has been done and handed over to his family for last rites.
