Agriculture and Horticulture Extension Officers Association Himachal Pradesh submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary R.D. Dhiman and Principal Secretary Agriculture Rakesh Kanwar here, today seeking removal of discrepancies in their pay-scale.
President of state A&HEOA Ashwani Thakur along with others NGOs leaders and Agriculture Extension Officers demanded that they should be also awarded grade pay equivalent to Junior Engineer of Public Work Department. The EOs stated that they have been rgetting grade pay equivalent to JBT since 2nd pay commission till 5th pay commission. The officers had also brought this matter in the knowledge of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and also submitted the memorandum to Agriculture Minister Virender Kanwar.
The Vice President of Association Dr. Naveen Naik informed that recruitment of Agriculture Extension Officers is done through Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission,Hamirpur and qualification for appearing in the test is BSc. Agriculture (hons.) which is a professional degree. The Agriculture Extension Officers are longing for 10300 plus 4200 grade pay-scale like other categories, since long.
They said that 6th pay commission recommended different pay-scale to various categories creating financial disparity among the beneficiaries. But as far as Agriculture Extension Officers are concerned, they neither received financial benefits due to 6th pay commission nor rider efficacy in any terms. The officers raised their voice that such kind of disparities should be removed and they should get grade pay of 10300 plus 4200 .
