On the Nationwide call of protest by the All India Kissan Sabha Coordination Committee(AIKSCC) farmers hailing from 30 blocks of 8 district of Himachal Pradesh lodged protests outside offices of Agriculture department extension officers, before their homes and in the fields today.
President of Himachal Pradesh Kissan Sabha Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that protests were successful as large numberof Farmers supported the call given by the AIKSCC of showing plank cards depicting the various demands. These farmers were from Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur,Solan,Kinnuar and Chamba districts.
He said that Union Government announcement of Rs 20 lakh Crore as economic package would not be enough to support the affected and distressed peasantry in the country. AIKSCC considers the package as short term measure and state that a complete solution is required.
He said that Kissan Sabha seeks transfers of Rs 10,000 into banks accounts of every rural house holds in the country so that they are partly compensated for the loss caused by the lock down.
 Dr. Tanwar said that like frontline Covid warriors farmers in the country did not ceased their operation and are continuely producing Vegetables, Fruits, food grains, etc to fill up the stomach of fellow Indians.
Farmers in the state supported the demand charters of AIKSCC which was handed over to central government jointly as National wide protest today, concluded Tanwar.
