In a remarkable display of democratic participation, female voters outperformed male voters in Himachal Pradesh, except in the Shimla parliamentary constituency. Across all other parliamentary and Vidhan Sabha constituencies, more women cast their votes than men.
Also Kutlehar Assembly Constituency (AC) saw an impressive female voter turnout of 80.99%, the highest in the state. Additionally, third-gender voter participation was 100% in both Mandi Parliamentary Constituency (PC) and Kutlehar AC, showcasing a positive trend towards inclusive voter engagement.
It was only in in Shimla (SC), the turnout recorded was 72.54% male voters, 69.92% female voters, and 66.67% third-gender voters, with a total poll percentage of 71.26%.
In Kangra, male voter turnout was 64.64%, female voter turnout was 71.18%, and third-gender voter turnout was 60%, leading to a total poll percentage of 67.89%.
Mandi recorded 72.13% male voters, 74.19% female voters, and 100% third-gender voters, culminating in a total poll percentage of 73.15%.
Hamirpur saw 67.95% male voters, 75.16% female voters, and 86.67% third-gender voters, resulting in a total poll percentage of 71.56%.
In the Assembly Constituencies, Dharamshala had 69.90% male voters, 72.52% female voters, and no third-gender voters, with a total poll percentage of 71.20%. Lahaul & Spiti recorded 72.77% male voters, 77.39% female voters, and no third-gender voters, resulting in a total poll percentage of 75.09%. Sujanpur saw 68.46% male voters, 78.78% female voters, and no third-gender voters, culminating in a total poll percentage of 73.76%.
Barsar recorded 66.16% male voters, 77.03% female voters, and 100% third-gender voters, leading to a total poll percentage of 71.69%. Gagret had 72.40% male voters, 77.95% female voters, and no third-gender voters, resulting in a total poll percentage of 75.14%. Lastly, Kutlehar saw 72.83% male voters, 80.99% female voters, and 100% third-gender voters, with a total poll percentage of 76.89%.
The overall high poll percentages reflect a vibrant democratic spirit, particularly in Mandi PC and Kutlehar AC, which lead their respective categories.
This comprehensive turnout signifies the state’s commitment to inclusive and active participation in the electoral process, marking a significant milestone in Himachal Pradesh’s democratic journey.
