This alleged incident took place as an attempt to threaten the staff of the Sanwara Toll Tax Barrier on the Kalka-Shimla Highway. According to the police report, the accused fired two rounds without any provocation.
Solan Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh provided information about the matter, stating that a case is being registered under Section 307 of the IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
The vehicle and weapons have been seized. Although detailed information may take time, preliminary reports suggest that the son of a judge from Chandigarh fired two rounds at the toll plaza. The accused, reportedly refusing to pay toll tax, invoked his father’s position.
Reportedly, the toll tax staff mentioned that exemption can only be granted if the judge is present in the vehicle. The firing created chaos at the toll plaza. The incident occurred between 4 and 5 pm, with no reports of casualties. Police are examining CCTV footage, and a case is being registered against the accused for attempted murder and violating the Arms Act. The detained individual is identified as Akhileshwar
