The flight operations between Delhi- Shimla will resume seven days a week, stated RD Dhiman, Chief Secretary of the State and the State govt is planning to underwrite 50pc seats on 2 routes, out of the three.
Pertinent to mention that the flight route is bound to resume on September 6 and will start after a gap of two and a half years.
He said that in a presentation and meeting held with Vineet Sood, CEO of Alliance Air, the company which will run the air operations in the State, it had been agreed that the flights between Shimla-Kullu-Shimla will run four days a week and between Dharamshala- Shimla three days a week.
Adding, the State government spokesperson stated that the government would appropriately underwrite 50% of seats on Shimla- Dharamshala and Shimla Kullu routes. He said, in principle, approval was given, and detailed modalities for the same shall be worked out with the tourism department in consultation with the finance department. ” Finance department has agreed to examine possibilities of allowing Class-I, senior government officers to travel by Alliance air from Shimla to Dharamshala, Kullu and back for official visits, they stated.
The MOU in the matter will be signed by the tourism department and the airline company soon, he added.
