In response to a recent terrorist attack in Doda district of Jammu, reportedly the police headquarters has issued an alert for the border areas of Chamba district. Security forces have been instructed to conduct thorough checks of all vehicles at barriers established along the Jammu border. Additionally, measures are being taken to further strengthen the security perimeter in the border regions.
Chamba district shares approximately 216 kilometers of its border with the Doda, Kathua, and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a recent encounter with armed terrorists in the forests of Desa in Doda district, four military personnel, including a captain and a naik, lost their lives. A member of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Group was also injured. Security forces are currently conducting an intensive search operation in the area.
To locate the terrorists, para commandos, dog squads, helicopters, and drones are being deployed. The martyred soldiers, identified as Captain Brijesh Thapa from Darjeeling, Naik D. Rajesh from Andhra Pradesh, and soldiers Bijendra and Ajay Singh from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, were injured late Monday night during the encounter but could not be saved. Their bodies were sent to their respective home states on Tuesday.
