An 11-member delegation from JICA Nepal has arrived in Himachal Pradesh for a four-day visit to assess the progress of the JICA Forestry Project. The team received a grand welcome at the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Shimla, where Chief Project Director and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Sameer Rastogi, along with Project Director Shresthanand Sharma, honored them with traditional Himachali caps and shawls, informed a spokesperson.

He said that the officials briefed the delegation on the project’s ongoing initiatives before they visited key sites, including the Radhe Krishna Self-Help Group in Ghanahatti, the Hydroponic Pilot Project in Nalhatti, the Monkey Sterilization Center in Tutikandi, and the Himalayan Forest Research Institute in Panthaghati.
The JICA Nepal team, comprising officials from various forestry and conservation departments, will continue their visit with inspections of the Catchment Area in Dhalli, the Himalayan Nature Park in Kufri, and the Eco Park in Craignano on February 20. Their itinerary also includes visits to the forest divisions of Bilaspur and Sundernagar on February 21 and 22 to review the exceptional project work being carried out, stated the spokesperson.
