Four Killed in Himachal Rain-Related Mishap

Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh over the past four days has resulted in the loss of lives and property. According to reports, a car carrying five youths plunged into a 300-feet deep gorge near Shulan curve on the Kaleda-Majhvati road, under the Rampur subdivision. Four individuals died at the scene, while one was taken to Khernri hospital for treatment.

Overall, monsoon season, so far has claimed the lives of 14 people, with hundreds of livestock perishing and extensive damage amounting to an estimated loss of Rs 250 Crore to both private and public property.

The victims, identified as Avinash, Suman, and Himani (all 22 years old), along with Sandeep (40), were returning home early today after attending a marriage party. Additionally, one woman was hospitalized at the Rampur Civil Hospital.

In another incident, 20 sheep and 40 goats were killed by lightning at Shunkchang top in the Kullu Manikarna Valley. One person was injured as well. The Animal Husbandry Department and Revenue Department teams have been dispatched to the location, as informed by Vishal Sharma, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department
