Ghandal bridge reopens for limited traffic
Shimla, July 21
The Ghandal bridge on National Highway No. 205 (Mandi-Shimla) has been reopened for vehicular traffic by the National Highway Authority of India and the Shimla District Administration. The bridge was partially restored after providing necessary protection to one of its abutments.
However, there are some restrictions in place. Only vehicles weighing less than 20 tons are allowed to cross the bridge, and at any given time, only one vehicle is permitted to ply on it. To ensure safety, the maximum speed limit on the bridge has been set at 10 kilometers per hour.
For vehicles weighing more than 20 tons, an alternative route must be followed. The diversion route is as follows: Shimla – Bangora (NH205) – Kalihatti – Nalhatti – Haridevi – Ghanahatti road and Rugra – Kohbag – Shalaghat – Galog road.
Drivers and commuters are urged to adhere to the traffic rules and safety measures in place for a smooth and secure passage.
